VOTE ON WILD AND SCENIC DESIGNATION:

At the March 2013 Town Meetings, the Upper Missisquoi and Trout Rivers Wild and Scenic Study is bringing the following article to vote in nine municipalities in the Study area (Berkshire, Richford, Enosburgh, Enosburg Falls, Montgomery, Troy, North Troy, Westfield, and Lowell): To see if the voters of the Town of X will petition the Congress of the United States of America that the upper Missisquoi and Trout Rivers be designated as Wild and Scenic Rivers with the understanding that such designation would be based on the locally-developed rivers Management Plan and would not involve federal acquisition or management of lands.

As you can see, designation would be based on the voluntary management plan, draft above. We want the community to make an informed vote, so please send questions about designation either to your local representative on the Study Committee or the Study Coordinator (contact info below).
