The Upper Missisquoi River and the Trout River are the first two rivers in Vermont to be considered for inclusion under the National Wild and Scenic Rivers Act.

This web site provides information on the Wild and Scenic River Study of the Upper Missisquoi and Trout Rivers in Vermont.

The Wild and Scenic River Study of the Upper Missisquoi and Trout Rivers formally commenced in September 2009 with the inaugural meeting of the locally-based Study Committee. The formation of this committee was the first critical step of the study process.

The membership of the Study Committee consists primarily of local residents of the towns within the study area. Read about the committee members.

Shana Stewart was hired in January 2010 as the Study Coordinator. Read about Shana.

Meetings of the Study Committee take place on the third Thursday of each month usually at 7 pm. Locations vary. Notices and Agendas are posted here.
