Upper Farmington & Salmon Brook W&S River Study
Joyce Kennedy, coordinator for the Upper Farmington & Salmon Brook study, described the history and activities involved with her River Study which is in its final year. She outlined the various sub-committees and their activities and frequent questions/concerns that were raised.
Troy Hydroelectric Project
Jonathan Chase advised that he wants to file preliminary application documents and pursue an accelerated schedule. J. Fosburgh said that the W&S Committee would work to help facilitate his project and determine how much of the river to exclude from the W&S proposal. J. Chase proposed that those boundaries be as described in FERC's (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) Exhibit G, presently about 1.6 acres. He is going through the FERC processes now and hopes to file his final license application in October; it is expected the license would be granted in Sept. 2011. J. Chase mentioned that other existing dams or known dam sites which might be investigated have been mapped by virtual hydro prospector. W&S prevents new dams from being constructed.
Next Meeting
